Nature Journals
My interest in nature journaling began when I started homeschooling my daughter.
As we explored topics like animals, insects, and plants, I wanted our lessons to extend beyond books whenever possible. We began visiting nature camps, forests, zoos, aquariums, and museums, turning each outing into a chance to learn through observation and experience.
I started bringing a sketchbook with me on these adventures. At first, it was simply a way to remember what we had seen. Over time, it became something more. Drawing encouraged me to slow down, notice details I would have otherwise missed, and appreciate the quiet beauty of the natural world.
These journals are a collection of sketches, illustrations, and notes inspired by our discoveries together. Along the way, I found a new source of inspiration for my artwork. Nature continues to remind me that there is beauty in slowing down, observing closely, and staying curious.
